Student E-poster Palooza

In December, both graduate and undergraduate students submitted E-posters and 3-minute video presentations to compete in a contest that not only evaluated their work, but also how clearly and concisely the contestants communicate.

Judges in 10 different categories reviewed the submissions and the finalists were invited to present their posters. Each presenter will have five minutes to present in front of the judges followed by a 4-minute Q&A period. Winners will be announced on February 11th, during the closing of the AAAS Annual Meeting, and they will also be acknowledged in an issue of Science magazine.

Monday, February 1

12:00 PM EST – Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
Includes the fields of biochemistry, chemical biology, genomics, proteomics, structural biology.

1:00 PM EST – Brain and Behavior
Includes the fields of neuroscience and psychology.

Tuesday, February 2

12:00 PM EST – Developmental Biology, Genetics, and Immunology
Includes the fields of evolution and developmental biology, genetics, host responses, infectious diseases, all areas of immunology.

1:00 PM EST – Cell Biology
Includes the fields of physiology and all areas related to cell research.

Wednesday, February 3

12:00 PM EST – Environment and Ecology
Includes the fields of agriculture, food science, and renewable resources; geology and geography, as well as atmospheric and hydrospheric sciences.

1:00 PM EST – Medicine and Public Health
Includes dentistry and oral health sciences, medical and pharmaceutical sciences.

Thursday, February 4

12:00 PM EST – Physical Sciences
Includes the fields of astronomy, chemistry, geology, mineralogy, meteorology, and physics.

1:00 PM EST – Science in Society
Includes the history and philosophy of science, general interest in sciences and engineering, science communication, and public engagement.

Friday, February 5

12:00 PM EST – Social Sciences
Includes the fields of anthropology, economics, education, language and culture, political science, and sociology.
