2027 AAAS ANNUAL MEETING TIMELINE

| March 5 | Discussion Panel and Workshop proposal submissions sites publicly announced. |
| April 8 | Proposal review site opens. Recruitment of session proposal reviewers begins. |
| April 22 | Deadline for Sections to suggest invited lecturers. |
| May 4 | Deadline for submitting Discussion Panel and Workshop proposals. Proposals will not be accepted after the deadline. |
| Mid May | Program Committee Meeting to discuss invited lecture suggestions. |
| May 18 | Deadline for Section Chairs to submit section endorsed proposal (minimum of 2 Sections per 1 proposal endorsement). Panel Discussion proposal review opens. |
| Late May | First invited lecturer invitations are issued. |
| June 1 | Discussion Panel proposal review closes. Student Poster Competition and Postdoc Talk submission sites open. |
| Late June | Program Committee subgroups meet to deliberate over session proposals. |
| Early August | Program Committee meets for final review of select Panel Discussions and Workshops. |
| August 21 | Discussion Panel organizers receive accept/decline notifications. Conditionally accepted organizers receive notifications with instructions to address committee’s concerns and update submissions through communication with AAAS staff by a set deadline. All organizers are asked to identify scheduling conflicts among their presenters and notify AAAS Meetings staff. |
| August 26 | Workshop submitters receive accept/decline notifications. Deadline for conditionally accepted organizers to provide responses to the Program Committee’s concerns. |
