The 2023 AAAS Annual Meeting will be presented virtually for the first round and in-person for the final round of judging. E-poster Judge sign-up is now open and closes on Thursday, October 27. Poster judges review and discuss research of the Student E-Poster Competition, providing valuable feedback to the future generation of scientists.


To apply you must hold a PhD, MD, or equivalent. MA/MS and PhD candidates are not eligible to apply.

Please include your contact information and a link to your online Bio Sketch. To match you with E-posters, please pick the category that best describes your area of expertise.
Permitted Bio Sketch:
• University profiles if it includes your status (PhD, MD, Etc.)
• LinkedIn
• Resume/CV
• Other credible source
Personal websites and journal articles are not permitted.


You MUST be available on the dates of: Thursday, December 1 to Monday, December 5, 2022 (virtual – self-paced) and Friday, March 3 – Saturday, March 4, 2023, 1:30 PM – 4 PM ET (in-person in Washington, D.C.). See the bottom of the page for your review category day. Failure to report will result in being charged for the In-person Meeting Passport.



Review 1-page E-spoter PDFs and 3-minute videos submitted by students and enter scores in the judge’s portal with constructive comments.


Score students’ presentation independently and deliberate with the judges on first place and honorable mention winners.
*Must bring own laptop. Judge’s portal does not work on mobile devices.


Those who serve as poster judges receive a full complimentary in-person Annual Meeting pass (includes the scientific program and public events). The complimentary passport is not refundable nor transferable. Eligible judges will be notified in December on how to register and claim the complimentary passport.


Please make sure you are available on the highlighted dates below before applying:

• Thursday, November 3: Submitters are emailed notification of Approved/Declined decisions.
• Monday, November 21: Approved submitters are emailed step-by-step instructions on how to use the portal
• Wednesday, November 30: Approved submitters are emailed portal links to score E-posters
Thursday, December 1 – Monday, December 5: First round: Judges review E-posters and score
• December 8: Free Registration links sent to judges who completed first round assignments
Friday, March 3 – Saturday, March 4: Final Round: In-person at the annual meeting, judges score and deliberate on first and honorable mention place winners
• Sunday, March 5: First place winners announced at the end of the meeting
