Full access registration includes unlimited access to all scientific sessions, seminars, topical lectures, plenary events, workshops, Family Science Days, and the Exhibit Hall.

After January 24, 2018, on-site rates will be in effect and the New Member deal will no longer be available.

To qualify for the reduced rates:

• AAAS members are required to indicate the email address associated with their account;
• Postdocs and teachers are required to provide their institution and chair or principal investigator’s name;
• Students are required to indicate their institution’s name and graduation year;
• Retired Professionals are required to indicate their retirement year and institution;
• Members of registered groups will need their group code.

AAAS cancellation policy

Cancellations must be received in writing by January 24, 2018. No refunds will be given for cancellations received after this date. Refunds are subject to a $50 processing fee and will be issued no sooner than 4 weeks after the meeting. Written cancellations may be sent via e-mail to

AAAS reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the meeting due to unforeseen circumstances. Registrants will be notified.

On-site registration

Online registration is open and will remain open throughout the meeting. You are also welcome to register for the meeting on-site at the Austin Convention Center, during the following dates and times:

  • Thursday, February 15
  • 7:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m.
  • Friday, February 16
  • 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, February 17
  • 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, February 18
  • 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.

Registering to attend just the free public events must be done on-site for the plenaries, career development workshops, and the Exhibit Hall. The Communicating Science Seminar (Thursday, February 15) is free to attend but requires online pre-registration, as space fills up. Registration for Family Science Days can be done online and on-site.
