Postdoc Talks

Deadline to propose a 10-minute Postdoc Talks for the 2026 Annual Meeting was Friday, October 18, 2024, 11:59 p.m. PT. These talks will showcase postdoc research to a broad, interdisciplinary audience, with following goals:

• Share your “big idea”: Captivate attendees with a novel, inspiring topic with broad relevance.
• Gain recognition: Increase your visibility in the interdisciplinary scientific community.
• Develop your communication skills: Learn to effectively present complex research in a clear and engaging way.

ELIGIBILITY

These talks are open to individuals who are currently holding a doctoral degree or equivalent. This new format of talks is aimed at individuals engaged in mentored research and/or scholarly training.

PROPOSAL REVIEW CONSIDERATIONS

• Newsworthy topics: Is your research relevant to current events? Has it made a groundbreaking discovery?
• Clear communication: Can you explain your work in a way that’s understandable to a general audience?
• Engaging presentation: Will you use visuals and storytelling to bring your research to life?

September 15	Postdoc talk and workshop proposal submission site open
October 18	Postdoc talk and workshop proposal submission site closes
Early November	Program Committee meets to select Postdoc Talk proposals
Mid-November	Submitters receive accept, conditionally accept or decline notifications that include instructions about next steps.
